you write so beautifully about being drawn ito the Light.

I am a nprotestant, who ivisits the abbey of st walburga in colorado, every year, for a silent retreat, and love these benedictine nuns who have become friends. i am so drawn to the Catholic faith, in so many ways, as i am an art teacher, now retried, and for the richness of THe culture.

But i am scared...have struggles with the pope and the adoration of Mary. Please pray for me, within this struggle.

your blog has touched me, and i have looked at it for years>

Several years ago, I took your course, The Way of Beauty, and my life has never been the same. I learned to appreciate iconography as a powerful artform and means of prayer. Like the Church itself, it has unlimited potential to provide meaning in this life and to assist us in the ascent to divinization that we were created for. Your pathway to the faith through Beauty was very different from mine. As a cradle Catholic I started out with indoctrination from infancy, a gift of incomprehensible value which I only began to appreciate later in life. You could say I entered through the portal of Truth. The great thing is that regardless of how one gets there, our common destiny is total Transcendance. God bless you, David, and thanks for all you do!
